  • Windy and Blustery

A blustery end of February day is a good day to revive this Blog. 50 mph wind gusts and snow flurries. The ravens love this weather.

  • First flakes
Today was blustery and we saw our first flakes of snow. Hoping for a wet winter.
  • Time-lapse sunset

Another lovely sunset on August 30,2018
  • End of August
    Sunrise on the Mesa
This is actually from sunrise on August 30. It’s my goal to post every day for the next 30 days. This is partly as a coping mechanism for going alcohol-free for the next 60 days while I undergo treatment for chronic hepatitis C. The clock starts tomorrow, September 1st.
  • The first snake encounter
I met our first snake, fortunately it was a bull snake and not a rattler, a common misconception is people say that bull snakes keep rattlesnakes away, in fact it’s just the competition for food. whereas bull snakes are eating the same food that rattlesnakes eat and are a little bit more opportunistic during the daytime and therefore cut down on the mouse population that both snakes count on for food. Nonetheless, I’m glad it was a bull snake and I just hope that it gets a little mouse snack and moves along.
